Fonts live on the Design page in the Unbound section of Discord’s settings, under the Fonts tab.
Fonts only work on iOS. On Android, changes in the Fonts tab have no effect.

How font overrides work

Discord sorts its fonts into a few groups, and each group gets its own row in the Fonts tab. The row shows the group’s name, with the font it uses below it. That font is Default until you pick another one. You can pick from two kinds of fonts:
  • Fonts that are already installed on your device.
  • Your own font files that you’ve added to Unbound. These appear first in the list.

Change a font

1

Open the Fonts Tab

Go to Design and pick Fonts.
2

Tap a Font Group

A list of fonts opens. Type in the Search Fonts field to narrow it down.
3

Tap a Font

The list closes, and the row shows the font you picked.
4

Relaunch Discord

Close Discord from the app switcher, then open it again.
Font changes only apply when Discord starts from scratch, as the hint in the tab says: “Font changes apply after you relaunch.” The Restart button on the General page doesn’t apply them, so close the app fully instead.
If Discord starts and can’t find the font you picked, that group keeps Discord’s normal font.

Go back to Discord’s font

1

Tap the Font Group

On the Fonts tab, tap the row you changed.
2

Tap Reset

It’s at the top of the list, under the search field. The row shows Default again.
3

Relaunch Discord

Close Discord from the app switcher, then open it again.

Add your own font files

The Fonts tab has no + button, so you add font files by hand. Unbound keeps them in a Fonts folder inside its app folder.
1

Open the Unbound Folder

Open the toolbox and tap Open App Folder in the Utilities section. See Troubleshooting for how to open the toolbox.
2

Copy the Font File into Fonts

Put the file straight into the Fonts folder, not in a folder of its own.
3

Relaunch Discord

Unbound only looks for font files when Discord starts. After the relaunch, the font shows up in the list for every font group.
To remove a font file, delete it from the Fonts folder and relaunch Discord. Remove a single addon on iOS walks through it.
