# Local Builds

> Build and serve the Unbound bundle locally so you can test your changes on a device.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Install Dependencies">
    From the root of the Unbound repository, install the workspace dependencies.

    ```bash theme={null}
    bun install
    ```
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start the Dev Server">
    Run the client's `dev` script. It rebuilds the bundle whenever the source changes and serves it over HTTP.

    ```bash theme={null}
    bun run --filter @unbound-app/client dev
    ```

    On startup it prints the address that devices on your network should connect to (`Devices on the LAN should connect to: ...`). Copy that address for the next step.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Point the Loader at Your Bundle">
    Set the loader key `update.url` to the address from the previous step. See the [loader configuration page](/loader/configuration) for details.
  </Step>
</Steps>

To build once without watching, run `build`, then `serve` to host the result:

```bash theme={null}
bun run --filter @unbound-app/client build
bun run --filter @unbound-app/client serve
```
